Rong-Qin Su

DIRECTOR\CINEMATOGRAPHER\EDITOR
As a contemporary storyteller, Su is drawn to observing environmental change, cultural dynamics, and the power of independent, critical thought. He aspires to be a filmmaker who explores and reconnects with a world that feels increasingly lost, telling the invisible stories he cares deeply about.

Su began his career as an adventure filmmaker, documenting life from the summit of Everest to remote Indigenous villages in Greenland, from Alaska to Patagonia. Over time, he realized that what moved him most were not just the landscapes or expeditions, but the human stories woven through nature, culture, and everyday life.

Ching-ping Yu

PRODUCER/DIRECTOR
Ching Yu is a producer-director and former geophysicist whose films drift between science, memory, and emotional rupture. Raised between cultures and now based in the Canadian Rockies, her work blends documentary realism with poetic experimentation, often exploring people navigating unstable landscapes and fractured identities.

A dropout from the UK’s National Film and Television School, Ching later studied under Werner Herzog in the Azores Islands, where she embraced cinema as instinct, risk, and emotional truth as much as observation. Her filmmaking is drawn to liminal spaces: glaciers, highways, laboratories, mountain towns, and bodies in motion. Influenced by scientific fieldwork and underground cinema, she gravitates toward stories that feel raw, intimate, and untamed.

In 2026, her short documentary She Measures the Earth was nominated for the Lindalee Tracey Award at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, recognizing filmmakers with a passionate point of view, social justice, and “a joie de vivre(joy of living).”

In her spare time, she skis the wildest snow winter to winter and volunteers with Girls On Ice Canada.
